There is nothing fashionable about fur.
Each year, millions of raccoons, minks, foxes, chinchillas, rabbits, beavers, hamsters (yes, I said "hamsters"), and even dogs and cats are killed for their fur. It can take as many as 40 cute, cuddly critters to make just one fur coat!
On fur farms, animals are denied everything that is natural and important to them. They are crammed into cages and exposed to rain, snow, and the hot sun, often without any shelter.
Even just "a little bit" of fur trim on mittens, boots, and collars caused tremendous suffering for an animal who was abused and killed on a fur farm or trapped and killed in the wild.
Is having one ugly Cruella De Vil coat really worth the lives of so many gentle and innocent animals? I think not! Luckily, there is no need to be cruel to stay warm and look cute. Cruelty-free fabrics and faux (that means fake!) furs are available in stores everywhere. When people buy less fur, fewer animals will be killed! Remember: Fur belongs to animals, not to us.
