What if you were forced to live in a bathtub for your entire life? That's basically what life at SeaWorld was like for Tilikum, a 6-ton orca who died after spending 33 years in a concrete tank.

Tilikum was just 2 years old when he was abducted from his family in the ocean in 1983. After that, he was kept in cramped tanks, where he got very little exercise and was forced to perform circus-style tricks to entertain people. He died in 2017. 😢

In nature, orcas swim up to 140 miles a day in the open ocean. Former trainers say that when animals refuse to perform, not giving them food and keeping them by themselves are two training methods that have been used at SeaWorld.

Life at SeaWorld is miserable for all animals held captive there. Please write to the CEO of SeaWorld and ask him to make plans now to release the orcas and other marine mammals to seaside sanctuaries where they can live in a more natural environment.
