Teddy bears are for cuddling—they bring us joy and comfort! A toy made for love should never come from suffering, but goats are harmed for teddy bears made from mohair, like the ones FAO Schwarz sells. No toy is worth a real animal’s pain, and no goat should suffer to make a stuffed animal friend.
Goats are sensitive, playful animals. They wag their tails and jump for joy when they are happy. Mother goats form strong bonds with their babies, and they recognize each other’s voices.

In the mohair industry—which FAO Schwarz supports—goats suffer a lot. PETA Asia investigators found workers dragging goats by their limbs and horns, throwing them across floors, and leaving them to suffer with untreated wounds. Even baby goats are harmed for mohair—goat kids are shorn starting as young as 6 months old.
Mohair toys can also cause itchiness, rashes, and other allergic reactions, especially for kids with sensitive skin. Teddy bears should be soft and safe—not something that needs a warning label, like FAO Schwarz’s mohair bears, which are labeled, “CAUTION! This product is not a toy and is intended for adult collectors only.”
Nobody’s teddy bear should harm animals or pose risks to children's health and safety! You can stand up for goats by asking FAO Schwarz to stop using mohair in its teddy bears. Please use the form below to help goats and tell FAO Schwarz to stop selling mohair teddy bears!
